The stages of your journey
Highlights
Day-by-day itinerary

Arrival in Slovénie
Upon arrival at the airport, you pick up your rental vehicle and head west towards the magnificent Lake Bled. This first stage immerses you immediately in the peaceful and green atmosphere of the Julian Alps.
On the way, if you arrive early enough, stop at Radovljica. Stroll through its charming historic center, visit the Apiculture Museum and taste local specialties, such as gingerbread or artisanal chocolate. Then head to Bled and settle into your accommodation. Once settled, take advantage of the late afternoon to take a first walk around the lake and admire the view of the island and the castle perched on its promontory.

Lake Bled, Living Postcard
Begin your discovery of Lake Bled by gaining height. Climb up to the majestic Bled Castle, a thousand-year-old fortress perched 130 meters above the turquoise lake. From its ramparts, the panorama is simply breathtaking: the island, the shimmering lake and the peaks of the Julian Alps as a backdrop. The museum exhibitions will immerse you in the era when nobles from all over Europe competed for this strategic location. For lunch, enjoy the castle restaurant with stunning views or try an establishment by the lake. For those who prefer to picnic, you will find many spaces by the lake where you can settle peacefully. In the afternoon, board a traditional "pletna" boat, these unique boats found only in Bled, propelled by oars by "pletnars" whose craftsmanship has been passed down from father to son since the 16th century. On the Island of Bled , climb the 99 steps (a lucky tradition!) up to the Church of the Assumption to ring the bell of wishes – legend says your wish will come true. For afternoon tea, we recommend the famous "kremšnita", an airy custard cream between two sheets of crispy pastry, a recipe jealously guarded since 1953 by the Park Hotel bakery. The view of the lake in the background makes this local delicacy even more sublime.
In the evening, you can enjoy mountain trout in one of the many traditional restaurants.

Bohinj, Preserved Natural Jewel
Just 30 minutes from Bled, discover Bohinj, wilder and more authentic than its famous neighbor. Start by visiting Saint John the Baptist Church, whose medieval frescoes tell fascinating stories. A walk along the crystal-clear shores will allow you to appreciate the majestic calm of this site nestled in the heart of the mountains. Another suggestion is to take a walk to the Savica Waterfall. After a 20-minute hike through lush forest, discover this emblematic waterfall that cascades spectacularly from a cleft in the cliff. A source of inspiration for many Slovenian poets. At lunch time, take the Vogel cable car which will propel you to 1535m altitude in just a few minutes. The contrast is striking: below the deep blue lake, above the vastness of the Julian Alps. At the top, a typical meal awaits you with breathtaking views. To aid digestion, we suggest you explore the marked trails that take you through flowery alpine meadows and pine forests, where the scent of resin mingles with the pure mountain air. Back in Bled, savor a traditional dinner in a "gostilna" (inn) where simmered dishes recall the recipes of Slovenian grandmothers.

Between caves, castles and Slovenian forests
Leave the Bled region in the morning and head towards Postojna. Start the day with an unmissable visit to the famous Postojna Cave, a true underground masterpiece and one of the most iconic attractions in Slovénie. Board the small train that takes you through a spectacular network of galleries, vast halls and impressive limestone formations. Admire the stalactites and stalagmites sculpted by nature over millennia and discover the unique fauna of the cave, notably the mysterious "proteus", nicknamed the "baby dragon". Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant, where you can taste Slovenian specialties such as mushroom soup, "žlikrofi" (local ravioli) or dishes based on game. After lunch, visit the fascinating Predjama Castle, an architectural masterpiece unique in the world. This medieval castle, perched on a cliff face and integrated into a cave, seems straight out of a fairy tale. A walk around the castle also offers the opportunity to appreciate the wild beauty of the surrounding nature, making this visit as enriching as it is inspiring. End the day with a unique and memorable adventure: observing brown bears in their natural habitat. Accompanied by a passionate and experienced guide, you will be taken by jeep through a preserved forest to the observation post. After a short walk, you will settle into a wooden cabin discreetly nestled in nature. There, in absolute calm, you may have the chance to see these majestic animals moving freely in their environment. Although the appearance of bears is not guaranteed, the experience of this immersion in the heart of Slovenian nature, between serenity and wonder, will remain etched in your memory.

Between Karst Wonders and Industrial Heritage
Embark on a fascinating day combining breathtaking karst landscapes, medieval history and immersion in rich Slovenian cultural and industrial heritage. Start your day with a stroll through Rakov Škocjan Park, a spectacular natural karst park. For adventurers, experience an exclusive adventure with a visit to the Križna Jama cave, one of Slovenia's best-preserved and most authentic caves. Križna Jama offers an intimate and immersive half-day experience, limited to 4 people per day. You'll explore its galleries on foot and by boat, discovering crystalline underground lakes and spectacular limestone formations. This cave is also known for its cave bear remains. If you haven't opted for a cave visit, end your morning with a visit to Snežnik Castle, a romantic gem nestled in the heart of the forests. This perfectly preserved castle offers an insight into aristocratic life in Slovenia. After lunch, head to Idrija, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its mercury mine, one of the largest in the world. Dive into the fascinating history of this operation by visiting the underground galleries and discovering the techniques used to extract mercury. This visit offers a unique insight into Slovenian industrial history and the lives of miners.
Idrija is also famous for its tradition of artisanal lace-making, a craft passed down through generations. Visit the Idrija Lace Centre to discover this delicate art and admire unique pieces. You can also meet local artisans and learn more about this emblematic tradition. If you have time, go see the Klavže – historic water dams, nicknamed the "Slovenian pyramids", they were once used to transport wood needed for the mine. A walk around these structures will immerse you in the region's technical history while enjoying the surrounding nature.
This day takes you through spectacular karst landscapes, preserved caves and unique historical sites. Between the natural beauty of Rakov Škocjan and Križna Jama, the romanticism of Snežnik Castle and the rich industrial and artisanal heritage of Idrija, this varied adventure will offer you a complete immersion in the treasures of Slovenia.

Between Legendary Horses, Underground Wonders and Mediterranean Charm
Embark on a unique day that blends the elegance of Lipizzan horses, exploration of the monumental Škocjan caves, and discovery of the Mediterranean charm of the coastal towns of Koper and Izola. Begin your day with a visit to the Skocjan caves, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site. These spectacular caves are home to one of the world's largest underground canyons, offering a breathtaking natural spectacle. Continue your day at the Lipica stud farm, the birthplace of the famous Lipizzan horses, known for their elegance and grace. Founded in 1580, this historic stud farm is one of the oldest in Europe. During your visit, discover the fascinating history of these emblematic horses, attend an equestrian demonstration (subject to the day's program) and explore the stables and vast meadows where the Lipizzans roam freely.
On the way to Koper, make a stop at the Sezana botanical garden, a magnificent historic park home to more than 170 species of trees and plants from around the world. A true haven of peace, it captivates visitors with its romantic pathways, exotic greenhouses and works of art scattered throughout an elegant setting. For history enthusiasts, stop along the way at the Lokev military museum, housed in a former defense tower, it offers a unique historical setting for its collection.
Head towards the Slovenian coast to explore Koper, a port city with a rich Venetian past. Stroll through the old town, where you can admire Tito Square, surrounded by historic buildings such as the Praetorian Palace and the Cathedral of the Assumption. End your day in Izola, a former fishing village with authentic charm. Walk along the harbor, explore the picturesque streets and enjoy views of the Adriatic Sea.

Piran, Between Mediterranean History and Maritime Adventure
Begin your discovery of Piran, one of the most beautiful cities on the Slovénie coast, with an English-speaking guided tour. This Venetian gem, nestled on the shores of the Adriatic, is full of history and charm. Wander through its narrow streets, admire the colourful facades and explore iconic monuments such as Tartini Square, St. George's Cathedral, and the ramparts offering panoramic views of the sea. Enjoy lunch at one of the local seaside restaurants, where you can savour Mediterranean specialties such as fresh seafood, grilled squid or squid ink pasta, accompanied by a glass of Slovénie white wine, such as Malvasia.
In the afternoon, embark on a sea excursion from Piran. Sail along the Slovénie coast, admire the Strunjan cliffs, secluded beaches and crystal-clear waters of the Adriatic. Depending on the programme, you can enjoy swimming, a snorkelling session or simply relax on board while admiring the view. This boat trip will allow you to explore Slovénie from a different angle, away from the hustle and bustle, and to fully enjoy the serenity of the coast. Alternatively, experience an unforgettable moment at the Fonda Fish Garden, a unique marine farm located in the Sečovlje salt pans natural park, near Portorož. Guided by the Fonda family, passionate biologists, you board a boat (or kayak/paddle) to their "garden of the sea" to discover the secrets of sustainable farming of the famous Piran sea bass. There, you witness a feeding demonstration, learn why the farm prioritizes quality over quantity, and explore the protected environment of the park. The experience concludes with a gastronomic tasting: raw and smoked sea bass accompanied by Piran fleur de sel, Istrian olive oil and a glass of local wine, all enjoyed under the pines, facing the sea.
Enjoy your evening in Piran strolling through the streets and admiring the sunset.

The Essentials of Ljubljana
After your breakfast, take the road leisurely to Ljubljana and arrive by late morning. Begin exploring the city with a guided tour of the historic center. Let yourself be seduced by the baroque elegance of Ljubljana, accompanied by a guide who will reveal its best-kept secrets to you. Between Dragon Bridge The Triple Bridge or Tromostovje, pastel facades and cobbled streets, you will discover why this capital is nicknamed "little Prague". Then climb to the Ljubljana Castle and embrace the entire city at a glance, up to the Alps on clear days.
At noon, savor creative local cuisine in one of the capital's many restaurants.
Then discover Ljubljana from a unique angle during a boat trip on the Ljubljanica. The captains often share anecdotes that even locals don't know! Enjoy the rest of the afternoon strolling through the city.
In the evening, you will have a choice among many restaurants. If you wish to treat yourself to an exceptional moment (optional), opt for a gourmet restaurant where chefs elevate Slovenian cuisine with creativity and local produce.

Authentic Experiences
After your breakfast, continue discovering Ljubljana and marvel at the architectural details of the National Library, a masterpiece by Plečnik where the monumental black marble staircase evokes an almost spiritual ascent. Then head off to discover the Slovenian Museum of Ethnography and its fascinating collection of objects testifying to traditional Slovenian everyday life through the centuries: costumes, tools, crafts and music.
Then explore the Tabor district, a creative and committed neighbourhood of Ljubljana with its community initiatives, urban gardens, and independent galleries. A different perspective on the contemporary city. After lunch, we suggest a few unusual activities (optional) for the afternoon:
- Explore the Slovenian capital from a unique angle by navigating a stand-up paddle board along the picturesque Ljubljanica river.
- Participate in an introductory course on "potica", learn to prepare this traditional Slovenian rolled cake with walnuts, honey or poppy seeds. You leave with your creation and the recipe.
- Test your palate at a wine or beer tasting.
- Hone your axe throwing skills, discover this trendy activity in one of Europe's largest axe throwing centres.
In the evening immerse yourself in the alternative atmosphere of the Metelkova district, a former military barracks transformed into a major cultural hub where urban art expresses itself freely on every centimetre of wall.
